18 months old

Ainsley is now 18 months old- where has the time gone? I don't have her height/weight yet as we go for her 18 month check up this week- I will post them when I know. I predict she will still be off the charts in height - every person that meets her thinks she is at least 2 years old.

All dressed up- check out the hat, sunglasses, bracelet and purse. she puts it all on, walks to the door and says "ba bye" and waves.
Here she even has a sticker on her face. All accessorized ( right Celene?)
We have been battling illness with her for the past few weeks. She was a bit fussy for a while and not sleeping well- I thought she was getting her last molars in. She continued to be a little fussy, stopped eating well and I noticed her breath smelled bad. We went to the doctor and she was diagnosed with strep throat. Apparently this is really uncommon in children under 2, usually older kids get it. We can't really figure out how Ainsley got it, but it doesn't matter too much I suppose. She was started on Amoxicillin. She did not improve on the amoxicillin and after many phone calls to the doctor's office dealing with an unhelpful nurse, we went back and were put on a new antibiotic. After a few days on the new antibiotic, she improved. Poor baby- I felt terrible that she was ill for so long. Now she is back to her happy and rambunctious self.

Grandma visited during her illness (I think Ainsley has been ill for every recent visit from Grandma). It was a short, but really fun visit. Grandma got us lots of really cute outfits- you will see them in the pictures below.

Ainsley loves to play chase and she does it all the time, even when you aren't really playing. Here is the look on her face as she gets ready to run.

She is poised on the other side of the desk, waiting to see which way I go...

Ainsley is talking all the time- repeating almost everything you say. She learns about 5 words a day- truly amazing. She loves to dance to music and learns new dance moves from me, the Backyardigans, and some she just makes up. She can read several words. I made a bunch of flashcards a while ago and we have been showing some to her everyday for a few minutes. Ainsley is pretty good at reading these words - Hi, Bubbles, Mama, Dada, Cat, Dog, Milk, UhOh, Book, More, Apple, Ball, Ear, and Chair.

Ainsley loves to play on beds- the more pillows, the better. She "helps" make them daily. This is her "helping" at Nannie's. She piles up the pillows and some blankets and then pounces on them.

Very serious face ( usually only for pictures)

What a character.

In her pretty party dress from Grandma on the way to the Hajek twins' birthday party.

Gathering all the balloons.

Playing in a pool full of stuffed animals with one of the birthday girls.
