Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

We had a fun family trip to the zoo last week! Dan took Friday off and we had a fun filled day together that included a trip to the Austin zoo! It was a gorgeous day- sunny and about 70 degrees. We had an amazing time and Ainsley enjoyed every minute of the trip. She loved looking at the animals and was quick to point them out and say her version of "what's that" and "look". It was such a nice sunny day that all the big cats were out sunning themselves. Much like our domestic cats- they like the sun, especially on their tummies. These are some pot bellied pigs that were rooting near the fence. Ainsley got really close to the fence because she was really curious by their appearance and sounds- all the sniffing and snorting. One let out a really loud snort and made Ainsley jump- it was really cute. She was able to pet some goats and help me feed them.

Ainsley saw me feeding the goats some pellets that had fallen to the ground ( we did not buy them at the front gate- we forgot) so she picked up some hay and offered it to them.

There was even a little train that takes you around the area- Ainsley's first train ride.

Ainsley went to her 1 year check up last week too. She was 31 inches tall- >97%. 23.5 pounds - 50-75% and got a good bill of health.
