Update- Finally!

I have not posted any updates in so long, I feel quite behind. The biggest news is that I am pregnant with Baby number 2! I am just over 4 months along, due the end of January. We are so excited about this new addition to our family. I feel I owe it to this baby to try and post updates as I did with Ainsley!

The early days of the pregnancy were quite rough. There were some complications and problems leading to lots of stress and doctor visits, but we are hopefully in the clear now! In addition to that, I felt ill starting at 7 weeks, and still sort of do.

Nausea started at week 7 and is still sometimes present. It was all day, every day nausea-it was so awful! Last week I felt better for the first time in 2.5 months, so I am hoping I am over it. In addition to nausea, I was exhausted all the time, I had frequent headaches, and I was very busy with work. Yuck!

Lots of issues means lots of ultrasounds though- so that has been really neat. We have been able to see the baby a lot. At an ultrasound I had in early August, the pictures were amazing. The ultrasonographer thought it was a boy, but said it was still too early to be certain. I felt pretty certain- that would explain why I felt so crappy ( to me at least!) I love this picture- you can see him so clearly!

We were able to confirm that it is a boy last week! We are so excited! We would have been happy with either, but one of each sounds pretty great!

You can see him trying to suck his thumb!

Now, I am 17 weeks and finally feeling better. My last check up went well. I am still tired, I take naps most days that I can. I guess raising a toddler while pregnant takes that much more out of you – I don’t remember napping after the first trimester with Ainsley.

I started to show much earlier with this pregnancy than with my first. I had a little tummy bulge right away, but it was not noticeable to anyone but me. It would change with the day- starting out small in the morning, bigger by bedtime, likely due to my very slow digestion. I was unable to wear my shorts by 3 months, so I resorted to maternity or exercise shorts. Now, I have a definite round bulge, though luckily I have not gained much weight yet. I moved out my regular clothes and put maternity clothes in instead and significantly cleared up my closet space.

I am not able to feel the baby move yet, even though I have thought I felt a few random big kicks. I am anxiously awaiting that fun sensation!

We are trying to prepare Ainsley about the baby- I think she knows there is a baby in my tummy, but I don't think she is clear on what that means.

Ainsley has been doing fantastic. She is a learning machine- she is so smart and quick. She is really happy, giggling and laughing all the time. We are going to start her in a Montisorri school this September. She will go for full days when I am working, and likely one other morning a week ( for some me time).

Wow! that is so exciting for you guys! it is pretty funny considering I too am pregnant again, just a little further along than you at 21 weeks! We are due Jan 2. We are not finding out if a boy or girl...but so far everything looks good. I am glad things are getting better...and hope they stay good for the remainder of the pregnancy! That must have been so stressful. Congrats again!

Congratulations!! I hope you continue to feel better and better. I remember feeling bad all day long too. So excited for you guys that you'll have a little boy! Keep the posts going! Are you going to need a new blog title or a new blog (and then there were four?). Love, Anna

I was just thinking I would need to change the title of my blog. Will have to do that soon!
