Grandma and Grandpa Hadley were in town last week for a visit. They arrived Wednesday afternoon. Ainsley adjusted to them really well- she has no fear of new people and graces them with smiles just like she gives us. My Dad really enjoyed meeting her and playing with her. He held her and talked to her, interacted with her, laid on the floor with her and held her sitting up on her mat. It was really cute to see. He had no problem going to get her if she awakened and was really good when she was fussy too. Mom was thrilled to see how much Ainsley had changed and loved her smiles too. On Thursday, I went to work and Mom and Dad stayed here with Ainsley. They did really well with her and said she was very happy all day.
Mom said that Ainsley giggled for her once Thursday. She was playing with a blanket and touching Ainsley’s face with it and Ainsley giggled. We have not heard it since, but are anxiously awaiting it.

Ainsley has been playing with her feet and toes quite a bit. She has even put her toes up to her mouth a few times. When we find her awake in her crib, she often has her feet in the air and will be grabbing her toes and sometimes sucking on them. It is very cute. We still have not heard another giggle, but she wasn’t in her happiest mood over the past few days. I think she has some oral pain from early teething and of course she got her vaccines a few days ago.
Sunday we drove to San Antonio for Father’s Day. We celebrated with my entire family- a very rare occurrence for us all to get together. Sara and Celene made a great brunch for us all. Ainsley was the center of attention- she got to be held by everyone and we took lots of pictures.
She was a trooper in the car too- she stayed awake for the majority of the trip down and the entire way home. One of us sat in the backseat with her to entertain her when she got bored. Here is a picture of her reading on her own- this is the first time she held a book by herself. She has been showing more and more interest in books- she will try to help me turn the pages, sometimes with her feet!
First Father's Day
Ainsley rolled over for the first time 10 days ago. Now she is a real pro- she rolls around in her crib and on her play mat very quickly. She goes from back to front, and then usually gets stuck on her tummy. She has gone from front to back a few times, but not consistently. Sometimes I am amazed at how much she can move in her crib- I often find her on her stomach, facing the opposite way of how I put her down on her back. It is amazing how much she scoots around. Luckily she is getting used to lying on her stomach because initially she would start crying in frustration when on her tummy in her crib. I have had to get up in the middle of the night to roll her back over, luckily she went right back to sleep.

I love that she is reading already! My how smart she is! And playing the toes also makes a great picture. Happy Father's Day Dan!
I'm glad you had a great visit with your parents.
