Dear Diary

Dear Diary:

Little girls are not always sugar and spice and everything nice. Sometimes they are puppy dog tails, beer, and remote controls. Maybe that is why I am behind bars all the time- it seems like I am always trying to get through to the other side. I also seem to be constantly grabbing for things that my parents move just out of my reach. I wonder why?

I really want to eat all the food that may parents eat, but they keep feeding me lots of gruel. I like most of it, but it sure does make a mess.

I prefer to munch on tv remotes and Remi’s tail. Yummy! I am fascinated by fancy bottles and cans too- though no one likes to let me try what is in them.

I am trying to get around on my own, but sometime it is just easier to get carried around. I can crawl pretty well- I never stay where they put me down. I can stand up on my own and walk around as long as I can hang onto something. My balance is a little off, I seem to be a little bottom heavy and fall backwards onto my rear. It’s a good thing I have a soft padded thing on to break my fall. I can stand for a few seconds at a time on my own without falling down but I still have some work to do before I can walk on my own.

My Grandpa visited last week for a few days. We had a good time together. I enjoyed playing with him and pulling the fuzzy stuff that was overflowing from his shirt! I tried to remove as much as possible, but I don’t think I made much of a difference.

I am learning a few new words – I can say Mama, Dada, and I try to say ba-bye. I even say Mama and Dada when I see my parents sometimes! I am also starting to learn a new word that I don’t like very much. That word is “No.” I hear that a lot. I don’t like hearing that word much because it usually means I have to stop doing something that I like, you know, like chewing on the remote.
Were they talking to me? Surely not.

I am clapping my hands together when I do something fun or when I am just happy. Everyone wiggles there arms at me and says Hi and Bye. They look a little silly sometimes. I started to move my arm back at them and it seemed to make everyone really happy, so I think I will keep doing it. I have started to wave when I see my parents and grandparents leaving and coming home. I even waved at a nice lady in the store the other day because she kept waving at me.

My legs are getting really long and I seem to be getting really tall. Check me out in this green outfit, it is a good thing I have bloomers or the world could see my Huggies. I think I am quickly outgrowing most of my clothes.

I now have 4 teeth and I am getting a 5th. Mom is not very happy because these teeth hurt when they come in. They make me wake up in the night and really early in the morning. She has to get up to comfort me- it makes me feel a lot better, but she seems tired.

Well, when the veterinary business dries up, you can always write children's books.
