Ainsley loves the Christmas decorations and even opened up one of her gifts early- she basically chewed off the wrapping paper so I just let her have that gift. We started out the holidays with lots of family coming into town. Both of my sister’s came up from San Antonio on Christmas Eve. Sara’s husband was even able to come back from an assignment in Baltimore and spend the holidays with us. We went to an early Christmas Eve Service (we usually go to the late service) so we could all go and take Ainsley. Sara gave Ainsley a gorgeous dress which we put her in for the evening. The early service is considered a “family” service and we soon discovered why. It was all Kids and families-therefore,it was mayhem and we loved it. There were lots of carols and laughs as we watched all the children running around (they were up front with a manger scene) and having a great time while parents tried to control them (lost cause). We all really enjoyed the family service – we had lots of music and laughs.
Ainsley enjoyed looking at the children and she sang along to the carols too- very cute.
We came home and had a nice dinner of Reuben sandwiches (my parents started this tradition from years ago-fast, good, and some other story). We put Ainsley to bed and had a nice evening with the sisters.
Christmas morning we opened up some gifts and the aunties played with Ainsley. It was cute- as soon as Ainsley made a noise from her nap – Celene was running up the stairs to get her. Wish I had visitors all the time! My parents drove in from Arkansas and arrived at 1:30. We visited and opened some more gifts. Dan’s parents came over for Christmas dinner and after they arrived we opened all of Ainsley’s gifts. Ainsley enjoyed playing with the wrapping paper and really liked a few of her toys but she did not quite grasp the entire concept of gifts. We enjoyed watching her though.
We had a nice turkey dinner and visited well into the evening. Ainsley did not want to go to bed- I guess there was too much going on. She was up until 10.
Friday we hit the mall, leaving the men at home with the baby. We found some great bargains! Sara and Dave left Friday, Celene left Saturday, and the parents left Sunday.
Unfortunately, then our household was hit with severe illness. Dan was sick with a cold over Christmas. Then he got a little better only to get another cold a few days later. Ainsley got sick a few days after Christmas and is still sick, though feeling much better. I got sick a week ago, and am still sick. I am finally starting to feel better, but this thing has lasted FOREVER! We are all now on antibiotics. Hope all of you do not get the "plague" like we have. YUCK. I am going to try this new method of pictures, hope it works.

The photos look great. Hooray for Christmas Cracker Hats! We had them, too.
