Ben- 2 months old

Ben turned two months old last week! He is such a big boy! He has been a cute and happy baby! At his 2 month check up he weighed 12.7#, and was 24 inches long. The doctor said he looked great! Ainsley still loves her little brother and likes to help out when she can. Ben has started smiling- it is so precious! He loves to give smiles to Ainsley. He grabs onto things like my hair and fingers. He tracks objects with his eyes and focuses better. Of course, he is cooing lots too.

We were sick again 2 weeks ago. Ainsley had strep again and also an upper respiratory thing with a fever and a cough. I had been coughing all week from allergies and didn't realize I had gotten sick too until I woke up with a fever in the middle of the night. In the morning, I started wearing a mask to try and save Ben from illness, but it didn't work. I was sick with a fever and cough, not much else but a back ache. I was sick for 5 days. I was put on antibiotics since I had a fever for so long.

Ben got sick a few days later. It started with a cough, not too bad though. It was hard to tell if he had a fever initially- it was really warm and he was a little warm, but not crazy warm. There was one day where I knew he had a fever and he acted a little sick. But, he still nursed and was not too fussy. I felt bad that he was sick- but there was not much more I could have done to prevent it. Second baby illnesses stink! Ainsley was 8 months old at least before she was sick for the first time. Ben was about 8 weeks.

At Ainsley's recheck for 2 episodes of strep in a few weeks, she still had it. She is now on clindamycin in case she is a carrier. We may have to consult an ENT soon to discuss a tonsillectomy. Let's hope this round of antibiotics cures her so we don't have to keep going back to the doctor.

Sara came up for a visit and we took the kids to the opening of Nordstrom Rack. It was fun to get out and look around. Ainsley sure enjoyed it. Her trying on hats!
