Ben - 1 month old

Ben is 1 month old! He is still doing great. He is happy and content baby for the most part. He is a little fussy in the evenings and has started staying up late - which is a bummer for me. I don't get much sleep at night- expected, but still hard. He nurses well and I am sure he has gained at least a pound since his 2 week check up. His cheeks are chubby and he is getting a double chin. His arms and legs are getting plumper too.

Ainsley loves her brother and calls him "Benny." I think that is a cute nickname for her to use. She is currently in a phase of adding -ey to all her words. Milkey. Juicey. Etc. I think she got that from other kids at school. She likes to watch him when he sleeps and will try to soothe him when he is crying.

Ainsley has had it rough lately. On Valentine's Day, she was sick. She was diagnosed with strep throat and Influenza B. Both at the same time seemed so unfair. Of course, it was just after my parents left to return home. Dan ended up taking off the entire week from work to care for Ainsley since I had to keep Ben away. Ben and I had some good bonding time that week. We were confined to my bedroom, but we made the most of it. Poor Ainsley was so sick, it broke my heart to hear her crying and coughing, etc. Then this week, she was twirling around in the living room and she lost her balance and hit her head on the armoire. She got a big bump and bruise on her forehead.

In cute camo shorts! It was 84 degrees on his 1 month b-day

Dave and Sara visited this week for a day. Ainsley was happy to see them and their dogs.

Dave and Ben did some good bonding- they took a nice nap together on the couch.
I like how they are surrounded by all three dogs!

Ainsley and Sara did some drawing and reading

One day this week when I had both kids on my own. Luckily they both napped well so I got a little nap too!
