Family Vacation- June

In June, we took a well needed family vacation.  We thought about all kinds of exotic destinations and trips, but in the end, we decided on a local lake.  We went to the lake and stayed at a townhome on the water.  It was really fantastic.  We decided that long travel with the two children would be really hard, and we wanted to enjoy our boat!  We were able to keep our boat right at the house, so it was really easy to hop on and take a boat ride! 

We were there for a week, and we enjoyed every minute.  My parents came down and stayed with us for a good part of the vacation which we all enjoyed!

We relaxed and enjoyed the kids, took lots of boatrides, did some tubing behind the boat, grilled out and played in the water.  During the week, we were some of the only people out on the lake so we had it to ourselves most of the time.

Dan and I were even able to get out and have a date night!  We went to an afternoon movie and saw The Avengers!  Then we went to happy hour at a restaurant on one lake- picture below.  We had appetizers and some wine.

 We left the first restaurant and went to another restaurant that was up on a hill overlooking another lake.  We sat out on the patio looking down on the water and the sunset.  Picture below.  We had the restaurant almost to ourselves and enjoyed a great, romantic evening!

Ben and Ainsley entertained themselves for a long time playing with the grill.  They were "repairing" it.  Ben had a screw that he repeatedly put into the leg and Ainsley tinkered around with a few things too.
