We came home from the hospital on Thursday around 12pm. We started to get settled in to experience the joy of being new parents. Ainsley has been a great baby and we are already hopelessly devoted to her. She has been nursing well, she sleeps pretty well and she is starting to stay awake more and more.
I have to share something funny- while in the hospital, Ainsley initially was spitting up a bunch of fluid that she swallowed during the birth. She spit up periodically for a good 18 hours- dirtying blankets, cloths and burp cloths. Dan looked at the rapidly filling laundry bag in our room and said we needed to get more burp cloths. I think he realized how much laundry there will be in our future. 1 towel, ha!
Also, Dan was pretty adamant that a wipe warmer was a waste of money. Why would you need one in Texas where it is so warm. Dan changed most of Ainsley's diapers in the hospital and after the first change said, maybe we need a wipe warmer. He didn't like using the cold wipe on her and causing her to be upset. He is completely wrapped around her finger already- it is really neat to see.
I would post more and put up some pictures- but, our home computer crashed last week. Great timing. Dan is working on finding out what is wrong -the geek squad suspects it is the mother board- which means new computer. Horrible timing. I told Dan we have to have a new one by next week when he goes back to work. Luckily, Dan has his laptop at home so I am not completely isolated. We may try to get our pictures up through the laptop.

I agree - 1 towel, ha! It is amazing what the arrival of a newborn can do to change your attitude. And the frequency of laundry.
I'm glad things are going well overall. I hope the computer gets fixed soon so you will have a lifeline and so you can post lots of pictures. You know, between loafing around and eating bonbons all day.
Some people--especially men--need to see to believe. Yes, Ainsley will have Daddy wrapped around her little finger quite handily, I think.
I'm glad things are going well and you're enjoying motherhood. When's the last time you got to straighten your hair, though?:)
